In dieser Führung auf Arabisch werden besonders die Objekte der Sammlung in den Fokus gerückt, die eine Brücke in den arabisch-orientalischen Kulturraum bilden. So findet man das Motiv des berühmten Paderborner Drei-Hasen-Fensters auch auf einem iranischen Tablett aus dem 12. Jahrhundert, eine westfälische Skulptur ist mit Ornamenten geschmückt, die an kufische Schriftzeichen erinnern, und das aus den altorientalischen Kulturen stammende Motiv eines Greifs ist auf einem Stoff aus dem christlichen Byzanz zu entdecken. Aber auch die Kunstwerke des Museums, die für die Geschichte Paderborns eine bedeutende Rolle spielen – wie der imposante Schrein des heiligen Liborius – werden zum Thema gemacht.

Die Führung findent im Zuge des Projekts „Verflechtungen. Kunst aus vom Islam geprägten Regionen in Kirchenschätzen“ statt und will zum interreligiösen und interkulturellen Dialog in Paderborn beitragen.

This guided tour in Arabic will focus in particular on objects that relate to the Arab-Oriental cultural area. For example, the motif of the famous Paderborn Three Hares Window can also be found on an Iranian tray from the 12th century, a Westphalian sculpture is decorated with ornaments resembling Kufic script and the motif of a griffin, which originates from ancient oriental cultures, can be discovered on a fabric from Christian Byzantium. But also, the museum’s artworks that play a special role in Paderborn’s history – such as the impressive shrine of St. Liborius – are examined closely.

The guided tour is part of the project „Verflechtungen. Kunst aus vom Islam geprägten Regionen in Kirchenschätzen“ (Entanglements. Art from regions shaped by Islam in church treasures) and aims to contribute to the interreligious and intercultural dialog in Paderborn.
